Don't Be A Troll by FluorineSpark Don't Be A Troll by FluorineSpark
Don't be a Troll.... Some people really take it seriously.

Hitler got rejected by Academy of Fine Arts Vienna twice. If he got accepted, and become an artist, things might be a lot different...

Being an artist is very different from other hobby or occupation. Professional or not, every time we create a piece of art work we put a little bit of ourselves in it. So it is no way that we don't take it personal. This is who we are, and we put it out there for the world to see. So saying "your art sucks" pretty much equals to "you suck!"

So next time when you criticizing other people's work, try to keep this in mind. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but there's no need to be mean about it. You can be constructive and be encouraging at the same time.

You know if someone takes an insult and turns around to commit genocide on unseen massive scale...

I think he had deeper problems than someone telling his hand turkey looked like shit...

Wow great job on this comi... when I think about it, if Hitler was an artist, maybe things would have been REALLY different.
That means the people from the academy are a-holes :D

interestingly, the swastika has been around for years.. WAYYY before Hitler. Go ahead, look it up. But Hitler was indeed an artist, he designed the Olympic rings if memory serves me.

yeah, the symbol has been around for many years. I know this symbol as a Buddha symbol before I know it's a Nazi symbol. But to use it as part of a corporate identity package, that started with the Nazi. From a design/marketing perspective, the entire Nazi package is extremely successful. The message is simple yet powerful, recognizable from distance. All the Nazi symbols, the SS symbol and such... Very successful... maybe the design benefit from Hitler's artistic talent. who knows.

Assumptions made by this drawing

*Being told art is low quality and needs improvement == Trolling
*Hitler being accepted into art school == Stopping him from being a Jew-hating prick
*People making shitty fanart with bendy arms and legs and only for the sake of praise are artists.

biggest assumptions, which I missed first time around are that he wouldn't have gotten into politics ANYWAY, and that rejection turned him into a monster.

He was a lot better than some of the arts I see around here. So I'm not going to say he's a horrible artist.

Still, let's try to keep this light hearted, and not involving too much politics.

This is kinda ridiculous. I agree on not trolling, but harsh critiques and learning to deal with this kind of pressure is a part of life. Life is full of disappointment. And if you never experience/learn from it, you will never fully mature. I understand that it is important to provide constructive criticism so that people may grow, but our Real world is not always like that(rare). You are all going to find a lot of haters in this world, and the bigger you become, the more you will find.

now what bothers me is ur comparison to trolling and collage admissions. they are unrelated. ur argument leads me to believe that you want everyone to admitted to college primarily out of the fact that they may be something far worse if they do not make it in. perhaps if hitler was let in, he would have faced even more criticism and repeat his heinous actions anyways. but this simple-minded conjecture is pointless.

I guess the reason why im writing all this is so people do not confuse the meaning of trolling with other things. And I think that people must learn to take criticism. And if they happen to end up in a bad place, it is not anyones fault but the artist themself. its their life. and they make it into what they want. I understand not everyone was raised in a stable environment/received similar love and attention/was fed properly etc...but people are people and they will be held responsible for their actions. so lets not blame everything around us for our future decisions. learn to stand tall take trolling for what it is.
empty words

i hope u dont think im trolling, because i really do respect your work and look forward to seeing more of it. peace

LOL~~~ I did laughed...

Well, since I got a test wall, I'll reply a text wall.

1, this is meant to be a joke. I know very well, Hitler end up doing all the horrible things because all kinds of different reason, it may have nothing to do with he got rejected by art school or being told he is an amateur artist. After all, a lot of us get rejected by schools and told constantly how bad our art is, none of us start a world war. I hope you won't go around picking on every comic strip and its logic, there's no end to that.

2, As for Troll... It is very true that there'll always be haters, and I'm told constantly, as artists we need to grow some tough skin. I've been told, it is part of growing up as an artist, it is part of the world, that world is horrible ugly place, and we all need to learn to deal with it.

But the truth is, just because others being mean, just because world full of haters, it doesn't mean IT IS RIGHT! it doesn't mean IT IS OK to do it other people, and we just have to take it, and if we don't we're being amateur about it. That certainly doesn't mean I can't even say anything about it.

There're harsh critiques, critiques that truly intended to help you, critiques that comes from a good place of human heart. And there're "harsh critiques" that comes from a dark place, that full of vermin and poison, that looks as if they intent to help, but really it just intent to hurt and make whoever gives the critique feel better. And trust me, I can tell, so is everyone else.

Of course, we need to learn to take criticism, being able to learn from our failures. But tell me, "you're art work sucks", what should I learn from that?

Words are not empty, it holds meanings and intent, meaning and intent has impact on human emotion. If they just empty, no literature will move people, no lecture will inspire people. When I was young and unforgiving, I thought we should all take responsibility for our own decision, I thought we're solely responsible for our future. I thought people who hurt themselves and others because some words are just stupid and weak.

But now I'm getting older, experiencing more life, I kind of realize, while we still responsible for our action, it doesn't mean the environment has nothing to do with it. I remember when I was feeling hopeless, how a few kind words help me get up on my feet; I also remember how cruel words that push me almost over the edge. There are power in words, in human communication, disregarding it is just as ignorent as taking it too seriously.

Anyway, you get your text wall reply. Enjoy.
